Signature Events

The seventeen BIDS within the BID Council of San Diego coordinate San Diego’s most popular large scale diverse street festivals that encompass a range of arts, music and cultural programming.  Geographically, the programs encompass the entire City of San Diego.  Attendance numbers reach more than 900,000 people collectively.

February Mardi Gras- Hillcrest

April- Adams Unplugged, Attendance estimate: 30,000  Description:  A local music festival that takes the music into the streets.

April- Pacific Beach Bocce Tourney  Attendance:    Demographic:  Description:

May- Old Town Cinco De Mayo Attendance: 200,000 per year  Event Demographics Adults 18-49 Description:  Fiesta Old Town is a celebration of history with a full weekend of activities for the entire family.

May- North Park Festival of the Arts Attendance 40,000 Adults 18-49 Description: A celebration of all the arts, North Park comes alive with 5 stages of entertainment and the famous craft beer block.

June:  Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-off Attendance 70,000 Event demographic Adults 18-54 Description:  Celebrated for over 35 years the community of Ocean Beach celebrates with roaming performers.

June:  San Ysidro Fourth of July Celebration Attendance:  Event Demographic:   Description:  Family fun and experience a regional celebration of independence

August:  Hillcrest CityFest Attendance:  150,000  Event Demographic Adults 21-54  Description: Cityfest is an upscale street festival featuring entertaining activities for all ages. Known for the unique arts and crafts booths with dazzling entertainment.

September:  Adams Ave Street Fair

October: Pacific Beach Beach Fest  Attendance: 50,000  Event Demographic:  Adults 21-54  Description: Pacific BeachFest has evolved into a celebration of all things beach lifestyle and culture.  Featuring a 5K run, Surf Contest and fun for the whole family.

October: Little Italy Festa  Attendance: 80,000  Event demographic: Adults 35-54 Description: A free family oriented event the Fest celebrates the Italian culture and heritage of the district.

October:  OB Oktoberfest Attendance 12,000-15,000.  Event demographic Adults 18-54  Description:  Live music and celebration for two days.  Ocean front beer garden and food and craft vendors.
